CPR to a goat

MURRY CHRISTMUS I hope you all have a great christmas. Its a pretty awesome time to celebrate the day the Savior came, the one guy who made the entire Plan of Salvation work by killing death and also paying the debt for all of our sins so that through him we're all going to live forever. Also if we choose to, we can live that forever in eternal glory with him. Also not to mention he helps you here in this life to have peace and joy and a ton of blessings. Jesus is the best. Where the heck am I - Still in El Congo  - Completed 11 months in the mission 2 days ago. - Elder Ochoa went home (along with Hales, Chase and Adcock, so now all my past comps are offically dead) - Recieved new comp Elder Frias. He's from Argentina and he's really great. We've had some really good experiences just in this week and a half together. - Went from only having american companions my entire mission to now being the only english speaker in a house of 4. Its awesome, I love speakin spanish. S...

Everyone I Know Is About To Die

WazAp Return to El Trébol This week I went on exchanges with my dad Elder Hales. That on its own would be pretty whack. BUT they also moved the AP's area to El Trébol, so not only I was I with my first companion for a day, but we were in my first area where I got trained with him too. That was super crazy. It was crazy to see how much people's lives had changed in a few months. There was a different bishop and elders quorum president, my old friend Kelvin had best friends in the ward now, I got to go back and find some old investigators that had been positive and help the new Elders start teaching some of them again. We also ran into that one super old guy I helped build a fence for forever ago, and he ended up inviting us in to talk and share a message with him. (We're still on the same topic but it kinda needed a new title) Another crazy moment that day was seeing my friend Alex.(picture below) We found this 19yr old dude back in the day just knocking doors, and when we...

Be a Walrus

HELLO HELLOOO PEEPL PEEPUULL How are you guys doin? I haven't seen any of you in like 9 and a half months now, so lemme know if anything cool has happened in your life in that time cuz if not theres a high chance I have no idea haha Aight heres some stories: Be a Walrus Ever since the new mission president came, he's been doing a great job focusing on the quality of training that new missionaries are getting here. There's lots of cool stuff he's been doin like a system of teaching certificacion and study plans and stuff, but one of these things was he had a zoom meeting with all the trainers and their trainees, and as part of it he used this nature video of a polar bear attacking a (Pack? Herd? Flock?) group of walruses. The point was how the big strong ones huddled around the young ones, so the polar bear would bite and claw but couldn't get through, and how the mission needs to adopt that culture of caring for and protecting the new ones so they grow up strong. ...

8 months, Pupusa record, y fiesta en los cielos

Image
Hello humanidad. It's been a gosh dang long time and a lot has happened I don't even know where to start.  Lets begin with pupusas Pupas (pronounced poo-puhs. The correct gangster pronunciación of pupusas according to 4yr old salvadoranian Gael)  I got transferred to a new area called El Congo and I'm now in a house of 4 elders where we all go to lunch together to an amazing member lady's house. So we show up for lunch day 2 of being here and she makes pupusas, but my companion is sick so he's like "thou must eat all of mine food for me" and I didst say unto him "I will do what I must" and then I got carried away in breaking the previous pupusa record of 14 written on the wall by past Elders and I ate 18 pupusas instead. Twas exceedingly glorious. I think I could get 20 next time if I have a less gigantic breakfast beforehand. The Coolest Day Ever Rewind time: to arrive at El Congo I had to leave Suncuan. The ward there was so awesome. My comp ...

Wazaaaaap  Things are going well here. Transfers came and went and thankfully I get to stay in my area with my companion Elder Adcock, the only difference is now we´re Zone Leaders. Which has honestly been super cool, having more responsibilities and more missionaries to help out definitely gives motivation to try to do better and be better. Aight now onto some STORIES Alan tries to kill us There's a little 4yr old kid in one of the families we ́re teaching named Alan who´s eight thousand percent hyperactive at every hour of every day. The first day we taught his family, while we were teaching the lesson he just stayed busy by picking up the cat, throwing it at the wall, and then chasing it down and doing it again. Another day we came by and he walks up to a dog as tall as he is and just starts kicking it in the crotch and wrestles it to the ground and cusses at it. The best tactic I´ve found to keep him from attacking us in the same way he did the dog is asking hi...

One time a dude chucked a brick at another dude. But baptisms are really the coolest.

(forewarning: I wrote this, and then realized it has zero of the nice format I use sometimes and therefore may or may not hurt your eyes to look at, for which I appologize. Idunno what happened to this email but I like it so maybe you will too. Aight shut up and read it) Recap of some of some of the many changes that have been goin on this transfer: - Arrive in new area with new companion Elder Chase - Two weeks with Elder Chase and then emergency cambios so Elder Chase leaves and Elder Adcock comes to the area. - 3 days with Adcock and we move houses - More emergency cambios and a pair of elders in the district leave, and our area doubles in size. - Some random dude chucked a brick at another dude in the street. But uh, it was at his chest instead of his face and then he ran away so I think everybody is fine. - 3 intercambios with the ZLs - We left the door to our house open for 2 freakin seconds and then a cat came in and stole a loaf of bread and started devouring it on our po...

Painting with the bois  Last time I saw Kelvin before I left El Trebol Epic clouds and plants My attempt to make peace with Loki after him trying to kill me every day for 3 months New comp Elder Chase w/ the legendary Victor Luna and his family Delishy fishy    Hola, it´s been a month since I last sent an email so there´s a lot of stories but for a short recap, Elder Smith and I finished up our last transfer together in El Trebol with much walking yet much awesomeness and success. We were together for 3 months in total, and a week ago I was transferred to the area Suncuan, in the city of Ahuachapan, where I am now with Elder Chase. Alright on to the stories: NO KIKI NO Theres a really nice drunk dude who lives near us who always yells at us in his lil high pitched voice HOLA HERMANOS every time we go by. His name is Kiki and he´s the best. The other day we were walkin down the street and Kiki is next to a police car rubbing his hands all over the roof and hood and windows...
